A Former South Carolina police officer Michael Slager, has been indicted by a federal grand jury that charged him with a civil rights violation.
Slager whom gained national attention last year, after a bystander captured the police encounter on their cell phone which appeared to show Slager shooting an unarmed black man later identified as Walter Scott.
In the words of the grand jury, Slager deprived Scott of his constitutional right “to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a law enforcement officer.”
This incident should send a strong message to those whom think they are above the law, ” You just never know where a camera might be now days ” and sometimes video footage may surface days or months later after a statement is made…
